Some threats to biodiversity are invasive species, climate change, habitat loss, pollution, and some more. Some of these threats to biodiversity are caused by humans. We are polluting there areas and habitats where they live, also by defo
resting the forests that is home to lots of
species in the world and by that they loss their habitats and the have to migrate and
search for a new place to live. Climate change is also affecting lots of species biodiversity, some species need to live in a specific place where they have a certain temperature and resources for them to live and as climate changes these places also change.
What is the purpose of identifying, classifying, and collecting plants andinsects?
To find the biodiversity of a certain place scientists collect insects in a certain time and place and then they classify them and identify each insect. They do these to see how much biodiversity of each insect they have in that area so they can calculate the biodiversity. They get an estimate of how many of each type of insect or animal lives in that are and how many species there are in there.
Climate has a lot to do with species and biodiversity; all species need to live in a certain place where they have a certain temperature such as a cold place like the polar or hot places like the desert. These species are used to live in that places and there they can get their food and live comfortable. As the climate changes the biodiversity changes, with climate change that s caused by humans the temperature in that places will change and that place will start changing so species will die or migrate so
biodiversity in the place could decrees with loss of species in the area.

What is biodiversity, why is it important to protect? Why does Costa Rica have such a high biodiversity percentage? ...
Biodiversity is the variety of species living in a certain area, these includes all native plants, insects, mammals or every animal that lives in the area. It
is important to protect biodiversity because lots of species and animal could disappear and we get all our food and resources from there and if that
disappear it will concern us. In Monteverde we learned about endangered species in the country and if we don't do anything to stop these threats all these species will disappear. an example of these is the golden toad of Monteverde that is already extinct and just lived there. Both plants and animal near us will start disappearing and it could be bad for us. Costa Rica has a high biodiversity percentage because of its geographic position; it is very close to the equator so its temperature is about the same all year long, also its area and two coats and mountain regions. Costa Rica has 5000 species and 4% of the total species and it has only 51.100 km2 of land, very high biodiversity for a small country. In Monteverde we learned lots about biodiversity and how to protect it. The biodiversity in Monteverde is good because we can see all the forests and animals there are in there, but also some animals have already become threatend or extinct.
Why is it endangered and why is it important to save? (Monteverde, Bell Bird, Frog & Toad, Bats). You may use the presentation done in class, but must add why it is important to save.
Bell Bird are endangered in the whole world and they think that most of the remaining birds live in Monteverde. There is a project done to protect the bell Birds in these region and they are trying to make a bigger forest and more land for the birds. It is important to save these birds because they are already endangered and most of the remaining ones live in Monteverde. there are other animals like the golden toad of Monteverde that is already extinct, some of the reasons the think that this toad got extinct is because they are very sensitive to climate change and other changes in the environment. In our Monteverde experience we saw the forest and part of the project to save these species and he could see some bell birds in the forest so I think that it is working in some kind.

What factors influence the operation of biological corridors? (legal, policy, local organization intervention and household livelihood strategies)
Some of the factors that influence the biological corrid
ors are cities, houses, roads, and other human activities that can interact or influence the path of these corridors. Some things they have done to try to save and help these corridors are by making some path with trees conected for animals to pass, or fences in the roads for animals to don't pass by the roads and search for another way to pass. deforestation and cities have been a problem for these corridors because if there are no forest for the animals to pass then the corridors aren't complete and they can't pass by cities or other human things.
